Civic Weekend in #OurHomeSTC
I hope everyone enjoyed the Civic Weekend and were able to experience some of the great events that took place in our hometown.
Once again Rotary St. Catharines pulled off a great RibFest – amazing weather, great entertainment lineup and the mouth-watering ribs, pulled pork and the famous blooming onion. I enjoyed seeing so many of our residents – I was the bearded guy slinging beers on Sunday! Thank you to Rotary, all the volunteers and for the first time – Eco-Defenders for pulling off a great long weekend event.
For those who attended the first ever (hope to be annual) Facer European Festival – you saw what a success it was! Congrats to the organizing committee and Councillors Britton and Sorrento for planning and executing such a great street festival embracing culture in our community. It was very personal for me – as my great grandma sold her land so the Polish Hall could be built and it was amazing to see the street alive with so many people. Congrats to The Pizza Dude’s Roberto’s Pizza Passion for breaking the Guinness Book Of Records for the largest calzone!
This week – I am sure you have seen an abundance of tall athletes throughout our city. It is Royal Canadian Henley Regatta – where we are fortunate to welcome rowers from all over the world and showcase our world class rowing course Martindale Pond. Congrats to all those who are competing and welcome to those who are visiting #ourhomestc. Head to the grandstands this weekend and cheer on our St. Cathairnes crews.
Enjoy the rest of your week – there are so many great things and events happening in #OurHomeSTC – be sure to check them out!
