Mayor’s Invitational Golf Tournament presents $10,000 to Hospice Niagara
Mayor Walter Sendzik and the Mayor’s Invitational Golf Tournament committee made a $10,000 donation to Hospice Niagara from the proceeds of the summer tournament.
The donation will assist Hospice Niagara in delivering quality hospice palliative care services to terminally ill residents.
“I have seen the excellent care and compassionate services that patients and families receive at Hospice Niagara at a most delicate time. We know that they rely on community donations and I am proud that we can support organizations like Hospice Niagara through the golf tournament. Thank you to our golf tournament partners, sponsors, and supporters for contributing towards this donation,” stated Mayor Sendzik.
Hospice Niagara executive director, Carol Nagy accepted the donation from the Mayor’s Invitational Golf Tournament.
“Our organization depends on community-based funding in order to deliver quality hospice palliative care services for terminally-ill residents across Niagara. Donations such as the generous gift from the Mayor’s golf tournament help to meet critical needs for palliative and end-of-life care, whether at home or in our residential hospice, as well as bereavement support. We are so appreciative for this donation,” said Carol Nagy.
The Mayor’s Invitational Golf Tournament is an annual fundraiser held by the sitting mayor of St. Catharines with the support of an organizing committee.
