Mayor’s Report – March 19, 2018.

Tune into the latest Mayor’s Report for an update on local community news and events happening in #ourhomestc.

Last week was a big week for transit in our community. MPs Chris Bittle and Vance Badawey along with MPP Jim Bradley announced the largest single investment in Niagara transit history.

We are also another step closer to daily GO Transit in St. Catharines and Niagara. The sign was unveiled last week at the VIA Station which will now be the new station for both GO Transit and VIA Rail.

Congratulations to the recipients for the 2017 St. Catharines Athlete and Sportsperson of the Year awards.  Abu Kigab was selected as the Athlete of the Year and to Doug Geddie and Keith Shaver are they Co-Sportsperson of the Year.

Those with children or grandchildren are all too familiar with the Mini Pop Kids crew – congratulations to local resident, 12 year old Ryan Sherk – local resident who earned his spot on the crew!  Also congrats to the Port Dalhousie Lions Club who celebrated 70 years – thanks for all your contributions to our community.

We have had great business activity in STC – Lords and Lady’s Salon celebrated 47 years in business and new investments in our community with the opening of  – The Rib Crib and Smokeshop, Guardian Family Chiropractic, Revel Realty Inc.  and Lauren Garbutt Photography.  Thank you for your investments.

Also shout out to the Niagara IceDogs and the Niagara River Lions  – who both made the playoffs! Looking forward to exciting energy downtown STC and at the Meridian Centre!
