Mayor’s Report – May 29, 2017.
We are at the end of May and with the warmer weather many will want to visit Lakeside Park and Beach and as I am sure most are aware – with the heavy amounts of rain and high lake levels (the highest they have been since 1918) the waterfront areas in Port Dalhousie are under water. City staff are continuing to monitor the situation and are doing what we can to try and avoid any long term damage to the areas.
Lots of great things are happening congratulations to the organizers of Folk Arts Festival, Harald Ensslen of MZE Architects, Caribbean Workers Outreach Program, Niagara Sexual Assault Centre, Lock Street Brewery, Balzac’s, Niagara Conservatory of Music, Mr. Furnace, Queenston Residences.
In the month of June – lots of community events: Italian Heritage Month, National Health and Fitness Day, Survivors of Stroke Walk, Gutsy Walk, Pride Week, Bike to Work Week, St. Catharines Arts Awards and Global Wellness Day.
Congratulations to the organizers, volunteers, Mary Ann Edwards and the Rankin family on another successful Rankin Run.
Until next time – enjoy all that this great city has to offer.
