Happy New Year St. Catharines
I think I can safely say on behalf of City of St. Catharines Council and the community – we have been waiting for the arrival of 2021.
And I think we can all agree that we are not going to miss 2020.
It’s been quite a year.. a historic one in fact – one that will leave its mark on our community and so many others around the world for many years to come.
This year we were not able to usher in the new year at the Lake St Armoury together but I would like to thank L Col Chris Canavan for inviting me to deliver my New Year’s Day remarks at and the traditional toast of Bulls Milk (google a recipe and make it at home….each Mess has their own unique recipe).
Also congratulations to CO Canavan on your new role as Commanding Officer of the Lincoln and Welland Regiment – a testament to your leadership and service to Canada.
I am hopeful that 2021 will usher in a new found optimism for our community.
I am confident that our City will rebound and rebuild in a way that doesn’t just recapture that momentum that came to a grinding halt on March 12, 2020… But launches our City to new and amazing heights.
Cheers to 2021…
