We have lots of great events taking place this past month and into February. Congratulations to the Niagara Grape and Wine Festival on delivering another successful Ice Wine Festival. Thank you to the organizers and volunteers for all your work.
Attention foodies – the St. Catharines Downtown Association Winter Downtown D’Lish is taking place – great opportunity to visit one of our amazing downtown restaurants.
Congratulations to Kirsten Moore-Towers who is heading to the Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics representing Team Canada. We have a City of St. Catharines flag here at City Hall for residents to sign and wish her well. It will also be at the four pad later this week – your hometown is behind you Kirsten!
Those looking to lead a more active lift this year – we have two new fitness studios that have opened in St. Catharines. Congratulations to Divy on the opening of JUMPHAUS located on St. Paul Street and Karen Climaxx Studio 2 a complimentary fitness studio to Climaxx Cycling located on Secord Drive.
We are about to head into February – which is Black History Month in Canada. This is a time to acknowledge and celebrate black history in St. Catharines and across Canada. Tune into Our Home with Mayor Sendzik on Feb 5th on YourTV Niagara to learn more about Black History in St. Catharines and Canada with my guests – Donna Ford and Nyarayi Kapisavanhu.
