Tomorrow is Halloween – wishing our residents a safe and happy halloween. Hope all enjoy lots of candy, treats and tricks.
Lots of great events happened in our city this past weekend – congratulations to the YWCA Niagara and all involved on a successful Niagara Leadership Summit that was held at Brock University this past weekend. The Change of Command took place at the Lincoln and Welland Regiment- thank you to Lt. Col Bruce Mair for your leadership and congratulations to the new Commanding Officer – Lt. Col. Christopher Cincio. Our new Chief of Police Bryan MacCulloch was officially sworn in last week, look forward to a working together. The OUA Rowing Championships took place at Henley rowing course this past weekend – congrats to the Men’s Rowing team who claimed the OUA Championship and to the Women’s rowing team who captured two medals.
We have the GO Hub & Transit study open house on Nov. 2nd and the Transportation Master Plan open house on Nov. 6. Gillian’s Place is hosting their annual Wrapped in Courage breakfast at Market Square on Nov. 7. Remembrance Day is on Saturday, Nov 11th – please join us at the cenotaph downtown or in Merritton to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice. The legions in our city have banquets and services starting this week – for more information stcatharines.ca/RemembranceDay. The unveiling of the Welland Canal Fallen Workers Memorial takes place Nov 12th at 2 p.m. all are invited to attend.
