We are now into September – to recap on the past couple weeks – Lakeside Park re-opening, an amazing weekend at Celebration of Nations – thank you to organizers Michele-Elise and Tim as well as Sara, Annie and the whole FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre team for amazing work. Thanks to the Clean City Advisory Committee & volunteers for a successful fall clean up, congrats to all who were involved in the Big Move for Cancer ride. Congratulations to two businesses in our community – McGeorge Auto Electric and Repair on their 70 years of business and Element 23 – business partners Terry O’Brien & Andrew McDonnell on their grand opening.
Lots of great events taking place over the next two weeks – Grape and Wine Festival kicks off this weekend. Pied Piper parade, Mayors’ Grape Stomp, Grand Parade – check out their website for a full listing of entertainment.
It is Big Brothers Big Sisters Month and United Way Campaign kick off – their flags will be up at City Hall. Congrats to the St. Catharines Falcons – celebrating 50 years in our hometown. Season opener is on Friday at the Jack and stay tuned for more celebrations taking place this year. Steel Blade hockey game happening on Friday at the Meridian Centre – Brock Badgers vs the Guelph Gryphons – looking forward to a sea of red. Terry Fox run is happening on Sunday at Brock University – looking forward to seeing many members of our community.
