New Year’s Day Levee
Toast the New Year Sunday, Jan. 1 with city councillors and members of the Lincoln and Welland Regiment and the 10th Battery, Royal Canadian Artillery at the 2017 New Year’s Day Levee. The Levee is the kick off to 2017 and Canada 150 celebrations. An area will be set up with information on events that will be taking place in St. Catharines during the year to mark our nations 150th birthday.
The Levee is an opportunity to explore the armoury’s messes, or gathering areas, on the second floor and discuss the historic building with members of the Lincoln and Welland Regiment. All our welcome to attend from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lake Street Armoury (81 Lake St.).
Mayor Sendzik, LCol. Bruce Mair and Capt. Jim Hill will toast the New Year at 11:45 a.m. The firing of the cannon follows at noon.
