Regional Government Review
I had a chat with a familiar voice on Niagara airwaves – Tom McConnell from 610 CKTB about the Province’s Regional Government review. The Province is reviewing the governance, decision-making, and service delivery functions for regional governments and member municipalities.
The Mayors of Niagara have given our input and met with advisors from the Province. As Mayors, we’re all committed to making sure that Niagara’s voice is heard in this government review and now we need the public to give your input.
Niagara Region (and its lower-tier municipalities including St. Catharines) is one of eight regional governments included in the province’s regional government review. Residents are being asked by the provincial government to share their thoughts through an online consultation process. The survey is open until April 23rd. So, take fifteen minutes out of your day and have your say in something that will affect our community for the next fifty to one hundred years.
